Vodacom has introduced all-in-one Smart Plans, which include the smartphone, data, talk time and SMS.

The new plans, designed for smartphone users, became available from 7 July and will be supported by a range of smartphones. Customers can choose their monthly commitment by selecting a suitable plan based on their needs and can add more bundles as required.

The move follows the reduced tariffs and new contract bundles recently announced by Cell C, SA's third-largest network.

“Customers want a combination of quality network coverage, a broad range of smartphones to choose from and excellent service,” says Vodacom managing executive of marketing, Enzo Scarcella. He says the company invested R7 billion on its network and capacity in the past 12 months and this remains a key focus.

All new connections, upgrades or migrations to Smart Plans from 7 July until 6 September will qualify for free Vodacom-to-Vodacom minutes that can be used anytime, peak and off-peak, which will be allocated monthly for the duration of the contract.

Customers on Smart Standard, Smart Advanced and Smart Super will also receive Vodacom to Vodacom weekend minutes each month. Data bundles are allocated upfront.
