Research in Motion (RIM) has introduced a human element into the support structure for its BlackBerry devices with “BlackBerry Buddies”.

Announced yesterday, BlackBerry Buddies is a group of people based in shopping malls across SA, who are dedicated to helping BlackBerry users understand, manage and get the most out of their BlackBerry devices.

“BlackBerry Buddies are on hand at different locations to help you learn how to use your BlackBerry smartphone more efficiently and provide you with the latest BlackBerry updates. They will give you tips, tricks and shortcuts, step-by-step trouble-shooting and help you get to know your smartphone better.

“They will also help set up your e-mail, show you how to use BlackBerry App World, demonstrate how to get the latest updates for your apps, and more,” says RIM.

The BlackBerry Buddies are based at designated stands in the following shopping centres: Sandton City in Johannesburg, Menlyn Park in Pretoria, Mimosa Mall in Bloemfontein, Canal Walk in Cape Town, and Gateway Shopping Centre in Durban.
