CA Southern Africa has announced that CA Technologies has unveiled a new monthly video chat as part of its cloud thought leadership programme, called CloudViews.
With this move, CA aims to broaden the debate on cloud computing.
Andrea Lodolo, CTO Southern Africa, explains: "The CloudViews programme has been running for several years. With a reach that has grown to over 70 000 since its inception, it has become a go-to source for the cloud community, providing an unbiased source of cloud news, analysis and perspectives to a broad audience of technology and business leaders."
The monthly CloudViews Unplugged video chat features two prominent industry thought leaders: Andi Mann, CA Technologies' vice-president, strategic solutions, and George Watt, vice-president, corporate strategy, who give their unique and amusing perspectives on the top cloud news stories and issues relevant to both traditional technology audiences and business decision-makers. The monthly sessions run for approximately 10 minutes and include three different sections: Cloud News, New and Cool, and the Quick-fire round. The concise format allows anyone to enjoy it even with only a few minutes to spare.
To further power new conversations and in appreciation of the lighter side of cloud computing, CA Technologies is also introducing a new series of infographics, cartoons and a cartoon caption competition.
A picture paints a thousand words, and CA Technologies is seeking creative geniuses who understand the impact of cloud computing on the business landscape to help get the cloud message out. The competition runs from 8 October to 9 November 2012. The CloudViews community will vote for the best caption finalists and a panel of judges will pick the winner. The grand prize is a Kindle Fire HD.
"I am very excited by the CloudViews programme," says Mann. "Customers and partners tell me all the time how much they appreciate the expert insight from the Cloud Luminaries series, and how they rely on 'This Week In Cloud' for all their cloud news. Adding our new video series, tweetchats, cartoons and infographics will help our audience stay connected with the most important ideas in cloud computing in lots of easy and fun ways," says Mann.
The new series of cloud cartoons, infographics and cloud video chats will be posted to CloudViews, where you can sign up to be notified when new content becomes available.
These new resources are part of the broader CA Technologies CloudViews programme, which aims to provide a source of unbiased, interesting and entertaining cloud computing news and analysis. Additional elements of the CloudViews programme include:
* Cloud Luminaries: brings together enterprise IT executives, cloud service providers and independent industry experts to express their views on the common cloud computing problems and challenges and to share experiences and advice. Interviews with 40 cloud luminaries are currently featured on the site.
* 'This Week In Cloud': summarises the week's top news and analysis stories and enjoys 30 000+ monthly hits.
* CloudViews Tweetchats: provides an opportunity to discuss cloud topics that range from SLAs to standards with a wider community. The monthly events have been running for over a year and the discussions consistently reach 50 000 Twitter accounts, enabling everyone to gain a multitude of views from peers and experts in the space of just one hour!
* Cloud Commons: a community that engages peers with all things cloud computing.
