Internet service provider (ISP) MWeb is targeting the small business market with its latest uncapped hosting suite, which the company says will "set the standard in Web hosting".

The ISP yesterday announced three new uncapped hosting packages for small businesses, home offices and personal Web sites. The products include an entry-level product, Basic Lite (R29 per month), and two higher end products, Pro (R49 per month) and Ultra (R99 per month).

Basic Lite, says MWeb, is suitable for a basic Web site "to get your business online so you can reach and engage with existing and potential customers".

The Pro package includes access to additional tools like reporting, Web site statistics and Web applications.

Ultra is for advanced small business owners. "The Ultra package is also loaded with more e-mail addresses, databases and a free .mobi or .com domain."

MWeb says it has allowed all uncapped hosting products to be supported on Unix and Microsoft server environments.

Rihana Hoosain, MWeb head of products, says the ISP first launched a basic uncapped hosting product in 2011, but found that a large segment of this market required more advanced functionality, automation and control.

"We have put together a range of products that have the benefits of uncapped hosting, [as well as] more advanced features at competitive prices."

Hoosain says the uncapped hosting suite gives individuals and small businesses more control and visibility of their Web site's management and metrics, and allows small businesses to start off with the features they need and grow from there.
