Software AG, one of the top 10 fastest-growing technology companies in the world and ranked as a "leader" in 15 market categories, officially opened its doors with a branch office in Durban on 1 November 2012. As part of the Software AG growth strategy for South Africa and Africa, KZN becomes an important pillar in the growth plans.

Software AG currently has webMethods customers in the automotive, retail and insurance space, including Toyota South Africa, Mass Discounters and McCarthy/Bidvest Financial Services.
The KZN Software AG office currently consists of seven people with a growth plan to be 20-strong by the end of 2013. Software AG will also invest in the region in terms of running a graduate support programme on the webMethods and ARIS technologies. The Software AG internship programme will also commence early in 2013 in partnership with existing KZN customers as the company is committed to ensuring that the skills required for ongoing business success is created and nurtured in the region.
ARIS offers the opportunity for graduates to learn the art of business process, while the webMethods technology offers graduates the ability to apply technical integration, business process automation and SOA skills. Software AG supports an open standards framework and encourages the use of these technologies.
Natural/Adabas customers in KZN will continue to be supported through the established partnership model with Business Connexion in Durban.
Software AG Durban will offer the full suite of services available in Johannesburg and Cape Town - including training, support, sales and consulting services.
