David Coutinho, who has been MD of Nashua for the past two years and has a history of about 27 years with the company, has resigned.

JSE-listed holding company of Nashua, Reunert, confirmed today that Coutinho would leave the company to "pursue other interests". Nashua's marketing director Dave Hallas has been appointed acting MD.

Coutinho was appointed MD of Nashua in November 2011, at the start of Reunert's restructuring process and following an announcement that the Nashua group of companies - as it was at the time - would no longer be consolidated.

At the time, Coutinho had already been employed by Nashua for over 25 years, having started his career with the company as a technician - following which he filled a number of roles, including that of sales manager for franchises and sales director.

Reunert CEO David Rawlinson announced Coutinho's resignation and the appointment of Hallas via an internal memo last week: "Dave has had a long and colourful career at Nashua and has been pivotal in driving the strategies of Nashua Limited. His drive and commitment will be missed by all."

Rawlinson congratulated Hallas on his appointment, adding: "I am sure that you will give him the loyalty and commitment that he deserves."
