Kolok SA has unveiled the Kolok Education Offering, in collaboration with Intel and Acer. The offering is an education ecosystem designed specifically for the SA and SADC market.

Aimed at K-12 schools (Grades 1-12, government and private), the Kolok Education Offering is available in three customisable options tailored to meet ICT education requirements of teachers and classrooms, the company adds.

The offering provides Kolok's reseller channel with a complete yet customisable education solution that can be adapted to meet each school's individual needs.

"The Kolok Education Offering's overarching goal is to provide schools with education-centric technology developed by world leaders such as Intel and Acer," says Allan Thompson, MD of Kolok SA. "It also falls in line with the worldwide trend to use technology as tool to improve teaching and learning therefore super speeding South Africa and SADC's own efforts."

"The Kolok Education Offering is more than just technology; it is a means to sustainably improve education," adds Joao Fidalgo, business development manager for the SADC region at Intel SA.

According to Marius le Grange, education lead at Acer Southern Africa, Acer aims to provide the right tools to allow learners and teachers to expand their limits. "The project is perfectly aligned with the Acer for Education strategy of not only offering products to the education market, but complete solutions to enhance learning through the use of technology."

The Kolok Education Offering incorporates the Intel Education Solution - a suite of applications based on educational and technical evaluations. Acer for Education provides education-centric hardware such as projectors, tablets and laptops.

Additionally, resellers can opt for a white box hardware solution, which can be branded with a school's name for example.

The offering is supported by training courses, which ensure that educators have the necessary knowledge to properly utilise the solutions. The content comes pre-loaded, which prevents issues if there are connectivity problems.

"Our partnership with world leaders, Intel and Acer, marks a very important phase in the Kolok hardware division's value proposition to our reseller partners," comments Thompson. "In an age where technology plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality education to our children, we believe our offering will meet and exceed the needs of schools and its decision makers."

The classroom solution includes a server, routers and various hardware form factor options, such as tablets or laptops from Acer or an OEM partner that cater for up to 40 learners.

The school solution includes a comprehensive WiFi environment that will ensure the entire school is connected as well as various technology options (both hardware and software) as well training and on-site IT support.
