Big data management solutions provider, Zettaset has added a business intelligence (BI) connector to its Orchestrator solution for enterprise Hadoop management and security.
The company also revealed that MicroStrategy – a provider of enterprise software platforms – has certified the Orchestrator BI Connector for interoperability with the MicroStrategy Analytics platform.
In a statement, the companies say joint customers of Zettaset and MicroStrategy can now benefit from security as well as multi-service high-availability, which are extended from within the Hadoop database and into MicroStrategy's information-driven application ecosystem.
Together, MicroStrategy and Zettaset can help enterprise customers safely and securely leverage the massive information potential of Hadoop databases in a combined solution that offers the highest levels of reliability and uptime, the companies claim.
BI and analytics application users can use Zettaset Orchestrator as a gateway that keeps Hadoop data locked down with encryption, access control and security policy enforcement with no negative impact on performance, while enabling users to take full advantage of the scalability and flexibility of Hadoop, they add."Enterprise customers with big data initiatives recognise that security is one of the top challenges they face, and analytics is where the rubber meets the road," says Jim Vogt, CEO of Zettaset.
"Our Orchestrator BI Connector is built on an open API that provides Zettaset customers with the options to easily access a broad set of analytics applications as well as multiple Hadoop distributions, safely and securely. We expect this breakthrough will significantly accelerate Hadoop deployments in 2014."
Kevin Spurway, MicroStrategy SVP of marketing, says: "We've worked closely with the Zettaset team to optimise and fine-tune our connection point. As the Hadoop market continues to mature, we see a greater need for management solutions like Zettaset's, to ensure a level of security, performance and reliability that enterprise customers have come to expect."
