Xerox has introduced three new printer products for cost-conscious customers. The range includes two monochrome laser printers, the Phaser 3600 and 5550, and the monochrome Phaser 3635MFP that can print, copy, scan, fax and e-mail.
“The challenge small to medium-sized businesses face is to invest in growth and do more while spending less,” says Ernest Leong, product manager of the office printing business at Bytes Document Solutions, a Bytes Technology group company, wholly owned by Altron, and the authorised distributor of Xerox products and solutions to 24 African countries. “They need cost-effective multifunction printers that suit their needs.”
The new Phaser black-and-white printers and MFP joins Xerox's growing portfolio of products.
The Phaser 3635MFP multifunctional printer produces up to 33 pages per minute (ppm); features of the range include scan-to-e-mail, full keyboard for fax directory, and optical character recognition (OCR) software that converts scanned documents into text-searchable files. The Xerox Phaser 3635MFP multifunction printer gets critical office tasks done with speed and efficiency, delivering an all-in-one solution at a low price.
If security is a concern for large or small businesses, this product includes options such as image overwriting, encryption and authentication tools.
It also has a full colour touchscreen control panel, the first time this interface has been used on a Xerox A4 MFP, which means the range now can support a variety of applications from third-party solution providers, such as Equitrac, for job accounting, Omtool for faxing, and Nuance and X-Solutions for scanning.
The Phaser 3635MFP can be used by individuals or medium-sized workgroups and includes automatic two-sided printing with network-ready versions.
The Xerox Phaser 3600 laser printer is a 38 ppm printer with choice of a built-in duplex and/or networking printing options meeting the needs of a workgroup and even a small office. The Phaser 3600 includes advanced security features and Xerox's CentreWare Internet Service technology, making the printer easy to use, manage and maintain.
Built on the award-winning Phaser 5500 platform, the Phaser 5550 laser printer features automated tools for easy installation and service. The printer is geared to medium and large workgroups and comes with PrintingScout and PhaserSmart, an online troubleshooting tool that helps diagnose and solve potential printing issues, preventing maintenance calls and increasing its reliability. The Phaser 5550 produces A4/A3 -sized prints up to 50 ppm for both single and double-sided pages.
The Phaser 3600 is available from R5 428, the Phaser 3635MFP from R13 338, and the Phaser 5550 at R21 170.
