Oracle acquires AVT

Oracle is acquiring Advanced Visual Technology, a developer of 3D retail space planning software, reports Channel Network.

The company plans to combine the AVT visualisation software with its Oracle Retail line of applications.

Oracle expects to close the buyout by the end of 2008. Managers and employees of Los Angeles-based AVT will join Oracle's Retail Global Business Unit. Financial details were not disclosed.

Space NK uses MarketLive

MarketLive, an e-commerce software and service provider for retailers, has announced the launch of a new online store for Space NK, a beauty retailer, says i Stock Analyst.

Designed in collaboration with MarketLive, the new Web site was built on the MarketLive ecommerce suite v5.5 and brings new opportunities for growth both in stores and online, the companies said.

The site also provides increased exposure and brand recognition for Space NK and the 60 brands it features from around the globe.

Tedeschi, Flash deploy Pinnacle

Two convenience chains, Tedeschi Food Shops and Flash Foods, have deployed Pinnacle's Symphony.auditor solution, a browser-based, home office retail accounting system, states CS News.

"Pinnacle's Symphony.auditor retail solution is providing our organisation with the tools we need to streamline our retail business in today's competitive environment," says Richard Jasper, CFO for Tedeschi.

“With this next-generation technology, we are able to realise better labour efficiencies by streamlining our retail accounting processes, which enable faster financial decisions," he adds.
