IFS to consult in UAE utility project

Johannesburg, 29 Jun 2004

IFS South Africa is to send a team of consultants to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as part of a project for a government-owned utility that manages power generation, transmission and distribution.

Valued at more than US$12 million, the contract was concluded by IFS in the Middle East and includes licences related to IFS Applications components for financials, maintenance, inventory, purchasing and human resource management.

"South African consultants are internationally renowned for their high skills levels and our own are no exception," says IFS South Africa managing director Paul Whalley.

"The South African team will consist of consultants in financials, human resources, distribution and asset management, and will be accompanied by teams from IFS offices in Poland, Norway and the UK. This is in line with IFS policy to utilise consultants from across the group in projects of this nature so as to broaden the skills base."

The South African consultants are scheduled to arrive in Tripoli on 1 September and will remain on site for about one year. In the meantime, delivery of the project has already commenced and the largest part will be implemented during 2004.

IFS prioritises the energy and utilities industry and has 120 customers worldwide involved in power generation, transmission and distribution.
