Bytes Document Solutions, the authorised Xerox distributor in 26 sub-Saharan countries, will showcase a wide range of colour digital presses, from the Xerox Colour 560/570 printer, to the Xerox 1000, Xerox J75 and the Xerox wide format IJP 2000, at the Africa Print Expo.

Workflow solutions and business development resources that drive successful digital colour print operations will also be presented.

The Africa Print Expo takes place on 12 and 13 March at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, with Bytes Document Solutions as the platinum sponsor.

"This commercial and digital print exhibition will give visitors the opportunity to see the entire digital print process and will feature a wide range of printing solutions - from sheet-fed A3 machines up to grand format digital equipment," says Paul Haglich, marketing manager for production systems at Bytes Document Solutions. "It will include both suppliers and manufacturers of commercial and digital printers, finishing equipment, software, media and consumables."

Bytes Documents Solutions will have the following presses on display:

* The Xerox Wide Format IJP 2000, which meets the market's demand for quick turnaround of high-quality wide-format applications of all kinds. The increased speed of the IJP 2000 means printers can accept and produce more wide-format jobs, even last minute requests. For example, it can print an A0 page in full colour with a resolution of 1 600 x 1 600dpi in just seven seconds, giving customers a huge competitive advantage. Driven by Caldera's Grand RIP Plus, the printer is suitable for a range of substrates such as textile, vinyl, backlit, banner fabric and stoplight films as well as standard and coated papers. It comprises five stationary print heads that use breakthrough technology, enabling printers to achieve results that have been previously unattainable in the market.

* The Xerox J75 Colour Press, which makes it easier to capture more lucrative jobs, ranging from photo books and brochures to direct-mail pieces and catalogues. For commercial print shops producing high-volume, high-value applications, the Xerox Colour J75 offers additional productivity, running all paper stocks, including heavyweight up to 300gsm, at full rated speed - 75 pages per minute (ppm). It can easily match corporate and industry colours with Xerox's Automated Colour Quality Suite (ACQS). With ACQS's inline spectrophotometer and colour management tools, accurate, reliable colour can be achieved with minimal operator involvement.

* The Xerox Colour 1000 press delivers sharp, rich, digitally mastered image quality. Its clear dry ink station adds impact to documents, and runs at rated speed. With the ACQS suite of tools, it also allows print shops to drive more high quality jobs through their shop and reduce costs.

* The Xerox Colour 560/570 printer, which provides professional digital colour printing image quality, media handling and finishing for business. The printer is a high-performance, professional, light production/multifunction printer best suited for graphic arts, pay-for-print, commercial print and corporate environments. It copies and prints with excellent colour control up to 2 400 x 2 400dpi resolution. It also can fax, as well as scan at high speed - in colour or monochrome - to PC, USB or e-mail. Numerous finishing and colour server options make it flexible to fit unique business needs.
