In October 2001, Grant Tate, Hendri Pretorius and Paolo Masselli started the process of establishing a SAP practice that was called Pebbletree Consulting. This process culminated with an agreement to enter into a 50:50 joint venture between the management team and Dimension Data. This JV officially opened its doors for business on Monday 2 April 2002, and the rest is history.
From small acorns do big Oaks grow! And so it was with Pebbletree as it grew consistently and continuously each year, focusing on mining, manufacturing and the oil and gas industries, and becoming market leaders in SAP supply chain solutions.
The strategy from inception was to recruit top-end consultants who not only had the skills, experience and expertise in the chosen focus areas, but to also recruit people of like mind and who had the personality and attitude to deliver excellence. These excellent people have always been the backbone of Pebbletree, and the success of the organisation has been underpinned by an attitude of “The Best At It”.
In 2006, having achieved some impressive growth and needing to make a decision to remain a niche specialist, or to take the step up to the big time, Pebbletree followed an acquisition strategy and invested into a series of companies - Eventus Consulting, Eventus Education, OneArch, Kopano Outsourcing and BasisOne.
At the same time, it was decided to rebrand Pebbletree and its group companies into Britehouse. The companies were integrated into logical business units with common back-office systems and shared services on a SAP platform.
Today, Britehouse is one of the largest Service Alliance Partners to SAP, employing in excess of 400 people, and provides a broad range of solutions and services on the SAP Platform:
* End-to-end SAP projects
* Innovation and support services
* Mobility solutions
* Business intelligence solutions
* Cloud services
* Business process outsourcing solutions
* SAP end-user training
* Organisational change management
* Enterprise and SAP solution architecture
* Hosted SAP solutions
Furthermore, the company has extended its traditional industry sector expertise to steel, retail, FMCG, media and public sector, and has also become a value-added reseller of all SAP and Sybase software.
Of great significance was the acquisition of NTT Holdings of Dimension Data. This resulted in a very useful relationship with SAP companies within the NTT Data Group. Britehouse is now part of a family of 5 500 SAP consultants that effectively cover the globe. The key sister companies include Itelligence (Germany, Eastern and Western Europe, US, China), Cirquent (Germany), Cornerstone (Singapore), Business Formula (Malaysia), Extend Technologies (Australia), Intelligroup (India, UK, US) and Keane (India, UK, US). The NTT Group is now working on a common global relationship with SAP and a common delivery and support model based on the same methodology and platform. This has already resulted in significant wins for Britehouse.
The first decade of business has been extremely successful. Britehouse will continue to build on these successes to deliver excellence to its clients in long-term and mutually beneficial business relationships.
