Johannesburg, 07 May 2012

Rebranded from Basis One, Britehouse's new vPlatform Solutions business is so confident of its ability to help customers run their businesses better that it is offering implementation of Xandria, an advanced SAP systems management solution, on a free-trial, no-obligations basis.

“Five years ago, as Basis One, we set out to provide customers with consulting and services focused around a fully outsourced and managed SAP environment that included a service and support desk for SAP technical support,” says Britehouse vPlatform Solutions MD, Henry Varges. “When we rebranded at the beginning of the year, we expanded the offering beyond an exclusive focus on services to include products enabling us to deliver secure, seamless solutions for our customers - either on-premise, in the cloud, or a hybrid of both.

“The objective, always, is to make the management of enterprise systems and business management solutions as easy as possible, and enable customers to access better value services through the cloud. This means constantly innovating, to ensure that we're giving customers the full savings and productivity benefits of the latest system management capabilities.”

“To this end, Basis One became the first accredited SAP hosting provider in Africa,” says Britehouse vPlatform Solutions Director, Warren Small. “It was also awarded the European Identity Management Award for the most innovative implementation of Identity Management Solution, which provides a complete security layer for all cloud services. And now, as the only African distributor of Xandria, we're making available to organisations an out-of-the-box solution that cuts the cost of monitoring and managing your landscape, allowing your people to be more productive. Essentially, Xandria is SAP Basis in a box.”

With a 98% out-of-the-box fit to any SAP landscape, Xandria automates the repetitive administrative work of performing daily system health checks, significantly reducing the amount of time that a Basis person would need to manage the environment. The solution includes a fully integrated cockpit dashboard that supports real-time monitoring of all an organisation's systems and applications. All checks are performed at a defined point in time and to a consistent quality. Automated daily checks are supported with comprehensive documentation and a monitoring history.

Xandria permanently verifies connectivity and periodically checks the most important system health conditions. Critical incidents are reported to an administrator immediately.

The solution incorporates intelligent monitoring objects that watch for critical trends more than for single events, and an intrinsic root-cause analysis helps to eliminate false alerts.

Xandria supports the SAP Web AS Java and all SAP products built on top of it, including SAP Process Integration (XI/PI), without the need to install any additional software. The built-in interface to JMX (Java Management eXtension) allows monitoring to be easily extended to other Java components.

In line with SAP's on-device, on-demand, and on-premise strategy, Xandria has a mobility front-end management tool, putting the management of an entire landscape in the hands of the IT team wherever they are and regardless of their choice of device.

Britehouse vPlatform Solutions' Xandria offering is available to customers in three different ways: an outright capex and annual maintenance fee, rent-to-buy, and a software as a service (SaaS) solution in which there is no on-premise installation. The solution is run from the Britehouse cloud platform, giving the customer access not only to the product, but also to Britehouse expertise.

“We're offering a free, no obligations trial for Xandria, because it delivers results so quickly that it will sell itself,” Varges says. “And, once customers acquire it, the combination of ease of use and prevention of system break-down generates an almost 100% rate of return in one year.”
