OutSource (Pty) Ltd, the infrastructure outsourcing division of PQ Africa, has purchased Landmark`s TMON products for OS/390 & z/OS from Datacentrix, Landmark`s local partner. OutSource`s purchase includes TMON for CICS, TMON for DB2, SQL Capture, TMON for MVS, TMON for VTAM, TMON for TCP/IP and Landmark NaviPlex.
Kevin Kassel, general manager - services OutSource, says: "Our business has grown significantly over the last year, and we must have an environment capable of high performance, reliability, scalability and manageability at low cost. We have made a major investment in our IT infrastructure and it is absolutely essential that our systems run efficiently at all times.
"TMON will certainly play a positive and vital role in optimising this investment and efficiency, and also help ensure that service level agreements between OutSource and its customers are met. The product suite`s future direction, capacity planning and billing capabilities also fits in with our future strategy."

"We are already aware that certain benefits have been derived in their DB2 environment. TMON for TCP/IP has tremendous potential for optimising the heterogeneous network configuration. This solution allows the monitoring of the OS/390 and non OS/390 TCP/IP stacks from the OS/390 platform, without any agents having to be deployed on distributed devices."
Other products in the TMON suite include TMON for MQSeries, TMON for IMS, TMON for Unix System Services (OS/390 & z/OS), TMON for DBCTL, TMON CICS/VSE and TMON for VSE.
