SAP Africa has appointed IT solutions and infrastructure provider, Datacentrix as a Special Expertise Service Partner, in the area of Archiving bringing SAP accreditation to the company`s SAP document management, optimisation and archiving capabilities serviced through the IXOS range of solutions.
"Under a broader category, Service Partners need to adhere to stringent requirements, including geographic coverage, training and development, compliance with SAP methodologies, and a specified number of trained, skilled and certified consulting resources," says Rob Shaw, product marketing manager at Datacentrix.
Special Expertise partners, a sub-category of Service Partners, was developed for Integration Partners such as Datacentrix in the field of Archiving, and other organisations that specialise in a particular SAP solution or industry and are viewed by the market as solution experts in their field. "This partnership agreement brings an additional focus level with the key objective of ensuring the supply of needed skills and capabilities in to the local market," Shaw explains.
"Our partnership with SAP has been long standing. As a SAP Software Partner, our status has recently been redefined in terms of new, stringent requirements set by SAP where a partner`s ability to supply and support SAP solutions is evaluated and accredited. We can now work with SAP to ensure mutual customers are adequately supported."
"Datacentrix has delivered successful Archiving solutions to many SAP Africa customers. They have the needed skills and know-how in this area of expertise, and we are happy to welcome them into the Service Partner Programme," says Katharine Carrick, Service Alliance Manager for SAP Africa.
Taking into consideration the size of investments made in SAP, Shaw believes it vital to have a value net in place whereby guidelines and principles are followed when building comprehensive solutions that increase the scope and value of a customer`s SAP solution.
