Datacentrix supports mySAP PLM with new IXOS solution

Sole local IXOS SOFTWARE AG representative, Datacentrix has announced the availability of a new product that supports mySAP Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). The product enables companies using mySAP PLM to manage both dynamic and static documents on a single document server, thereby improving efficiency and reducing administrative costs.

"In the past, these documents were stored on the SAP Content Server, but new product liability laws require that they be kept in long-term secure storage," explains Rob Shaw, product marketing manager at Datacentrix. "As a result, companies have been storing these `static documents` also on optical media in an archiving system."

With IXOS-eCONserver, dynamic documents are saved on hard disk pools, where project team members can edit them further and static documents are stored on optical media, where they are secure and unalterable.

"By using a single server to manage both types of document, companies improve efficiency and reduce administration costs," he says.

Additionally, the IXOS-eCONserver can be used to manage documents from CRM, groupware, SAP ERP and mySAP solutions. Using IXOS-eCONserver enables companies to avoid the time and additional expense of managing multiple, standalone archiving systems.
