IXOS, Plasmon announce alliance partnership

IXOS SOFTWARE AG, provider of document management solutions that are seamlessly integrated in the leading applications, has announced a new partnership with Plasmon, a manufacturer of automated data storage libraries. Datacentrix, sole local representative for IXOS in SA, and Datashuttle, local distributor of the Plasmon range of products, will extend this international partnership in SA.

The IXOS/Plasmon partnership brings to market a complete, secure, scalable archive solution for e-mail and SAP archiving, utilising the IXOS-eCONserver solutions from IXOS and Plasmon`s storage automation libraries - CD, DVD, MO, LTO and AIT. This end-to-end solution provides enhanced content management environments with cost-effective near-line storage and leading software solutions for Microsoft Exchange and SAP.

"The partnership with Plasmon is a further proof of the organisation`s commitment to providing a lower total cost of ownership for customers` groupware, disaster recovery and data archiving needs."

IXOS-eCONserver solutions provide the platform for managing high volumes of data and documents enterprise-wide. "The combined functionality of flexibility, scalability and secure technology of the IXOS and Plasmon products proves to be ideally suited for removing, storing and accessing electronic documents such as e-mail, invoices, internal memos, contracts, and hundreds of other document types," explains Riaan de Leeuw of Datashuttle.

Plasmon storage solutions allow the customer the flexibility to select from a variety of automation products to address their specific storage requirements for archived content. Options for 120mm CD and DVD, 5.25-inch Magneto Optical and Tape Libraries are available in multiple configurations designed to scale to specific storage capacity and retention.

Plasmon
