Datacentrix introduces Integration Suite to SA market

Johannesburg, 01 Jul 2003

Sterling Commerce`s recently launched Integration Suite is now available in SA through local partner, Datacentrix, the sole distributor and service provider for all Sterling Commerce products and services. An evolution of the Gentran product line, the Integration Suite provides a next-generation solution for B2B, EDI, EAI and BPM.

Says Jan Potgieter, business unit manager at Datacentrix: "The product allows for an incremental progression from basic EDI to sophisticated integration technology for all existing Gentran customers. All customers contemplating integration technology today, should talk to Datacentrix because we believe, that, not only with Integration Suite, but by utilising our full range of products and services, we can offer a robust integration solution."

The existing Gentran infrastructure provides the core of the Integration Suite, so that all new integration components enhance the EDI system already in place. The installation and implementation of the Integration Suite does not touch the original implementation to ensure that customers can upgrade with no risk to their existing environment.

"Integration Suite is essentially a set of components designed to extend the integration capabilities of Gentran into deeper areas within and outside a customer`s organisation," Potgieter explains. "The Integration Suite was designed and developed based on Sterling Commerce`s past successes with Gentran and Connect:Direct, their understanding of the integration market space and an understanding of companies` needs today and in the future."

The Integration Suite offers a number of benefits to Gentran customers, including lower costs and the ability to leverage both the existing investment in Gentran and EDI and skills. "Using Gentran as the foundation of the Integration Suite provides a lower cost of ownership for overall integration software, hardware and services. The product also reduces project complexity, in that there is less to do and, by the same token, increases the odds of project success, as well as driving higher ROI and lower overall costs.

"The solution is highly flexible, allowing for the management of integration projects, one at a time and a scalable approach, enabling businesses to buy what is needed, as it is needed," Potgieter adds.
