PPC outsources technical services to Datacentrix

Johannesburg, 12 Jan 2004

Local cement and lime supplier, PPC, has contracted IT infrastructure and solution provider, Datacentrix, for the provision of Microsoft technical skills and support for the organisation`s HP Intel servers and desktops.

The service agreement encompasses PPC`s move early in 2004 from its current Parktown offices to new premises at Barloworld Head Office and includes onsite Datacentrix technicians who will support PPC`s desktop and server environments.

According to Michael Groenewald, PPC IS facilities manager, PPC elected to partner with Datacentrix because of the level of expertise offered by the company. "Datacentrix not only has the necessary technical expertise on both Microsoft and HP, it also has a good understanding of our business drivers and a country-wide reach for national support.

"The company`s strong Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) strategy and solid reputation were also key factors in our decision."

"Datacentrix boasts HP Platinum Partner status and is also HP`s largest local partner, both significant factors in PPC`s decision to partner with us," says Michelle Nienaber, account manager at Datacentrix. "Our partnership status and subsequent experience in HP projects are key to our relationship.

"Additionally, Datacentrix has built significant expertise in the Microsoft arena and holds accreditations as a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner for software products, Microsoft Large Account Reseller and Enterprise Software Advisor," she adds.
