ChannelData, specialist distributor of storage and network products, has appointed IT services and solutions provider, Datacentrix, as its first Iron Mountain Digital Elite partner and reseller. Iron Mountain Digital is the world`s largest service provider of data backup and recovery and archiving software.
Says Peter Sykes, ChannelData product manager: "Datacentrix is a trusted BEE infrastructure partner to many corporate, private and public sector enterprises and its large national footprint, together with our long-standing relationship, made it a natural move to pursue a partnership on the Iron Mountain Digital product range."
In addition to marketing and reselling the products to end-users, Datacentrix has concluded an initial internal roll-out of the Iron Mountain Connected PC Backup solution to protect its own business data residing on laptops.
Says Datacentrix divisional director, Sunil Singh: "No other product adequately addresses this sector of the market. With increasing volumes of important data being stored on distributed PCs and laptops, the Iron Mountain Digital product range will provide additional value to our existing and potential clients by addressing an area in the market that is showing enormous potential."
Apart from completing a proof of concept, no major ongoing technical involvement or training is required from Datacentrix after the initial setup.
"The beauty of the product is that we will simply load the application onto a server and the client`s PC or laptop and after that everything is seamless - backups and security functions take place without the user even being aware of it," Singh says.
