Africa's largest facility management company, TFMC, a member of Mvelaphanda Group Ltd, has implemented an HP blade server solution, comprised of Itanium and Wintel servers, as well as a SAN and backup solution, alongside its SAP project.
TFMC thoroughly analysed the blade technology from different vendors and selected HP as the product of choice.
Datacentrix provided valuable input during the sizing exercise and final configuration to comply with the SAP landscape requirements.

The company currently provides total integrated FM services for approximately 6 500 buildings, with a total building area of around 2 500 000 m2, situated on plus/minus 3 300 sites.

In line with its vision and mantra of continuous improvement, TFMC recently migrated to SAP, a process which was completed in just nine months - well below the anticipated time scale.
Datacentrix was appointed as TFMC's hardware supplier and implemented the HP blade server solution. "TFMC partnered with Datacentrix for this project based on their five-year relationship. Datacentrix has established itself as a preferred IT solution supplier to TFMC, due to its strong BEE status, reputable track record and its understanding of the client's environment and requirements," Winterburn explains.
According to TFMC's IT Director, Rob Redaelli, providing a total integrated facility management service for customers, ensuring value for the customer's money, is a number one priority for TFMC. "Having the appropriate and supporting hardware architecture helps TFMC in achieving this objective," he says.
