Esquire selected to join Microsoft Direct OEM Programme

Johannesburg, 25 May 2004

Esquire Technologies recently announced that it has been selected to join the exclusive Microsoft Direct OEM Partner Programme.

This announcement coincides with the launch of the Esquire branded range of desktop PCs during May.

Sunil Singh, in charge of Business Development at Esquire, comments: "This programme not only gives the Esquire PC credibility, but enables us to provide a quality, recognised range at more competitive prices to our customers."

The launch of the Esquire range of desktop PCs follows the company's intensive branding campaign over the past year.

"Esquire is now ready with its own range, which will compete favourably with local and overseas products in terms of quality and price, and bring additional choice to southern African markets," says Singh.

According to Guy Macqueen, OEM Account Manager at Microsoft South Africa, Esquire has proven that it is serious about driving its branded PC into the marketplace.

"By signing the direct OEM agreement with Microsoft, Esquire gains access to the Microsoft product range, as well as additional resources from our OEM team," adds Macqueen.

"Our joint objective is to ensure that the end-user has a positive and rich PC experience."

As part of the company's strategy in launching a branded range of PCs, Esquire also secured two other important global supply chain relationships, namely the appointment as an Intel Premier Provider during 2003, and the appointment as an official distributor of AMD products in SA during the first quarter of 2004.

The Esquire range provides a choice of six desktop PCs with varying configurations to suit the home user, business person, game enthusiast to the power user. The PCs come standard with the Microsoft operating system, and a selection of Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition or Microsoft Windows XP Professional.
