Esquire partners with Altec Lansing to distribute well-known audio range

Johannesburg -2nd August 2004 - Esquire Technologies, distributor of PCs, components and peripherals, will distribute the well-known range of Altec Lansing multimedia audio solutions for PCs in southern Africa.

Altec Lansing is a leading manufacturer and marketer of computer and home entertainment sound systems, and a line of headsets, headphones and microphones for personal digital media.

Mahomed Cassim, Marketing and Sales Director of Esquire, says: "We've been looking for a tier one audio product to complement our multimedia product range.

"There's an increasing demand in SA for quality audio PC-based products, as more and more users have integrated their sound systems into their PCs.

"We are pleased to acquire distribution rights from Altec Lansing, which is recognised as the market leader in the PC speaker system category, providing high performance multimedia products for the computer OEM, reseller, distributor and retail marketplace."

Esquire will also distribute Altec Lansing's line of high quality peripherals, such as digital audio systems, digital RF audio systems and portable computer audio products.

Many of Altec Lansing products include innovative audio technologies such as streaming audio data through the Universal Serial Bus (USB).
