Esquire hosts exclusive event for SME resellers

Esquire Technologies, one of the leading distributors of computer hardware, PCs and peripherals, recently hosted a sit-down dinner event at the Midrand Conference Centre to celebrate the festive season and introduce overseas vendors to over 220 key SME resellers.

The evening, with the theme "Health, wealth and prosperity - The Way Forward 2005", included presentations on the roll-out for 2005 by representatives from ECS, Esquire, IC Intracom, Intel, Kingmax and Microsoft.

Asgar Mahomed, Managing Director of Esquire, commented: "We're firmly committed to furthering the skills and knowledge base of our SME reseller base. Events such as these that include direct contact with global leaders, encourage and motivate our resellers to grow their businesses."

Esquire's National Sales Manager, Jacques Wynbergen, told resellers about Esquire's plans for 2005, which include the opening of two more branches, improved logistics, extranet online ordering and new product roll-outs.

Danny Lo, Senior International Sales Manager of Asia of IC Intracom, was present at the event. Esquire was recently appointed distributor for IC Intracom in SA to market the well-known Manhattan PC components range and the Intellinet active networking range.

Mahomed comments on the appointment: "This is extremely important for Esquire and its resellers, because we can now offer 2 000 quality, tried-and-tested products under two brands, namely Manhattan and Intellinet, from one source."

In addition, Esquire was recently appointed distributor for Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS), one of the world's leading producers of motherboards. Allen Chang, Deputy Manager in charge of Asia Pacific motherboard sales, represented the company at the event. ECS also manufactures DeskNote notebooks, portable desktop computer systems and multimedia.

Mahomed added: "It was a pleasure not only to host representatives from new partners, but also suppliers that we've been doing business with for the past couple of years.

"Lawrence Chang, Vice-President Sales for Kingmax, a global memory technology leader ranked among the top five in the world, was also present to meet our resellers. Kingmax's brand of memory modules is highly acclaimed by the IT media and end-users alike."

Microsoft SA's Guy Macqueen, OEM Account Manager, also delivered a presentation on expectations for 2005, along with Intel Corporation SA's Kamal Vasram, Channel Field Sales Engineer. Esquire is an Intel Premier Provider and a Direct OEM Partner of Microsoft.
