Esquire Technologies, one of the leading distributors of computer components and peripherals, announced today it will distribute the range of BenQ printers in SA.
Well known for its digital lifestyle products globally, BenQ recently expanded its product range to include printers, ranging from entry-level desktop units to full multifunctional devices.
Esquire currently distributes a range of BenQ products, including scanners, input devices, digital cameras, MP3s, notebooks and media products in SA.
In June this year, BenQ announced the acquisition of the Mobile Devices business of Siemens AG. The acquisition will create the world's fourth-largest handset maker, and the largest mobile phone technology company in Greater China, bringing BenQ's combined annual revenues to US$10.9 billion.
Mahomed Cassim, Marketing Director for Esquire, comments: "With an increase of digital sales increasing at a global rate of 60% per annum, and an expected 370 million camera phones expected to sell across the world in 2005, the demand for image technology is on the steep increase. BenQ's complementary and compatible range of high quality printers will move quickly in SA, which is also experiencing incredible growth in the digital imaging arena.
"BenQ printers are feature-rich and affordable and are targeted at the home, SOHO and SME markets. Our reseller network is pleased to welcome another quality global brand and we look forward to making BenQ printers a leading player."
BenQ's extensive experience of over 20 years in imaging-related technology comes into play in the printer range with some exclusive features, such as true borderless photo printing, vivid photo enhancements, and the unique twin bubble print head technology.
