Esquire Technologies, a leading distributor of computer hardware, peripherals and lifestyle products, announced today that construction of a new R30 million head office in Midrand will commence over the next quarter to cater for the company's rapid expansion over the past few years.
Asgar Mahomed, Managing Director of Esquire, comments: "We have outgrown our current infrastructure and it makes more sense to design and construct an office park to suit our needs and place all the operations under one roof.
"The new office park will have a 6 000 square metre warehouse and a 2 000 metre office block and conference centre. We will also include a day care centre for employees that have kids."
Esquire launched the successful Xpress Warehouse at its current head office in Midrand last year, which is the first retail type store of its kind in Africa aimed exclusively at resellers. This flagship received international recognition when Esquire was awarded the DISTREE Channel Initiative Award in Monte Carlo in January 2006.
"The new building will house the Xpress Warehouse, as well a state-of-the-art assembly line for the ESQUIRE range of PCs and notebooks.
"Esquire plans to have the offices completed by end of January 2007 and will be operational from the second quarter of 2007 after our final year-end," says Mahomed.
Esquire has not only developed a large range of branded products, ranging from PCs, notebooks, LCD monitors and TVs to digital lifestyle products, but also expanded its distribution of global products. The range now includes leading brands, ranging from Altec Lansing, ECS, BenQ, Sapphire, Manhattan, Intellinet, Pixelview to Princo, Hitachi, Microsoft and Intel.
