Esquire Technologies, a leading distributor of computer components, peripherals and lifestyle digital products, announced today that its recently launched online ordering system exceeded 1 000 registered users.
The online ordering system was launched in December last year and has become an extremely popular method of placing orders by its reseller user base across southern Africa.
Mahomed Cassim, Marketing Director of Esquire, comments: "The system is fully integrated to our back-end accounting system, which means resellers now have a true reflection of stock availability."
With the Esquire Online Ordering System, resellers log into the system, add stock items to their shopping cart, and then place an order.
"This order then links into the systems' back-end and picks stock from the relevant branches, or from an alternative branch if unavailable, and removes the stock item from the inventory, which is checked every 30 seconds," adds Cassim.
"The user then confirms the order and an invoice is generated. The order is received by our team in the stores department, who pick, sort and prepare the order for collection or delivery."
Dirk de Kok of PCM Computers of George, who recently won an Esquire 32-inch LCD TV in an online promotion, comments: "What's really great about the system is its convenience and speed, as you can log in from anywhere at any time of day or night and generate an order. If a stock item isn't unavailable, you know immediately, and an alternative option is suggested, as well as the relevant specs of the product.
"In addition, it's much faster than the traditional route as you no longer have to phone a sales person to place an order."
Cassim adds: "Another user-friendly feature of the system is that customers can search for products either by stock code, category or brand. In addition, the order defaults automatically to the branch location at either Esquire's head office in Midrand or at one of the branches, depending on where the customer is based.
"Because our resellers have one national account number, they can for example, order in Cape Town like PCM Computers, and organise collection in Johannesburg. This enables our resellers to operate on a national basis."
An optional Web front-end has been integrated into the Esquire online ordering system for resellers who want to trade online and import, export and update price lists and create quotations and purchase orders and update their Web sites with live prices and available stock.
