Johannesburg, 21 Aug 2008

Esquire Technologies, leading distributors of IT and digital lifestyle products, recently unveiled the latest BenQ series of Joybook laptops - the A53, S32, and Q41 models - which combine advanced technology and contemporary design.

"A look at the regional laptop market reflects the increasing number of new models with unique features. Keeping this dynamic market environment in mind, we have designed the A53, S32 and Q41 as a perfect blend of contemporary design and leading edge technology with important and distinguishing features that will appeal to stylish consumers.

Joybook A53

The 15.4-inch WXGA (wide screen resolution of 1366x768 pixels) Joybook A53 is powered by Intel's Core 2 Duo processor T8100. It incorporates carefully chosen specifications, including exclusive UltraVivid Technology, WiFi capability, integrated Web cam and Windows Vista certification.

The aluminium band across the notebook's lid echoes the same brushed metal finish on the palm rest, with arcs imprinted on the touch pad. The display bezel adopts the latest RHCM (Rapid Heat Cycle Moulding) process, and the high-gloss LCD screen further enhances the A53's holistic design. BenQ's visual display expertise amplifies all applications from videoconferencing, to charts and diagrams.

Mahomed Cassim, Sales and Marketing Director of Esquire, added: "An industry-best 8-millisecond response time to display fast-action games and dynamic movies from the Joybook's PowerDVD creates a competitive edge in this series."

The Joybook A53's keyboard reflects the same emphasis on innovation and enhanced user experience as the overall design. "An integrated numerical keypad to the right of a full-sized alphanumeric keyboard gives the Joybook A53 a considerable ergonomic and productivity advantage over other laptops. Also, the A53's keys are 20% larger than other conventional laptop keyboards, offering greater space and ease of use," said Cassim.

"Users will enjoy the Joybook's well thought out connectivity features, including integrated Web cam, speakers and microphone, with smart noise suppression and echo cancellation.
