Casey standalone CCTV DVR from Esquire drives down security costs

Ideal for viewing multiple locations through a single browser.

Johannesburg, 18 May 2009

Esquire Technologies, leading distributors of computer, CCTV and digital lifestyle products, has announced the local availability of a new H.264 standalone DVR from the Casey stable of CCTV products.

Forming part of Casey's latest generation of network DVRs, this offering utilises highly advanced video and audio compression technologies hosted on an open source, Linux platform, which both heightens user customisation options and lowers costs.

With enterprise level features like 16-channel output, embedded Linux OS, five control methods, H.264 video encoding, multi-user access and more, this DVR still manages to stay affordable.

Ideal in a variety of environments that may require high levels of security monitoring technologies, like casinos, security companies, exhibition halls, shopping malls, police stations and even hospitals, the Casey high-end DVR is ideal for areas where security is paramount.

Mahomed Cassim, Sales and Marketing Director at Esquire, says: "The new Casey CCTV DVR is the clear choice for larger home or business security camera system installations, or even multi-location franchise remote viewing environments.

“These standalone DVRs use the new H.264 video codec, which provides longer recording times with smaller hard drive sizes than previously required. The embedded Linux OS feature ensures high levels of stability for tracking and recording.

“Unlike some standalone DVRs," adds Cassim, "the Casey range of Linux DVRs provides high quality video and allows for remote viewing of multiple locations simultaneously. This means users can install their H.264 DVR in multiple stores or at varying locations and remotely view these environments through a single browser.”

The remote manipulation options, available either through the front panel, IR remote controller, Dahua keyboard, USB mouse and networked keyboards, means users can control and change settings on the systems in real-time from wherever they may be located.
