Esquire Technologies receives international award, recognition from IC Intracom

Johannesburg, 15 Nov 2010

Esquire Technologies, leading distributor of IT and digital lifestyle products in southern Africa, has recently clinched the IC Intracom Genesis Award in Germany and has been appointed to the Distributor Advisory Council (DAC) for a two-year term.

Esquire is a premier distributor in southern Africa for Intracom's Manhattan PC components and peripheral product range and its Intellinet Network Solutions security and surveillance equipment.

Esquire was 'highlighted for its ongoing excellence' at the IC Intracom International Distribution Conference, in L"udenscheid, Germany, where it was honoured with the Genesis Award based on 10 years of dedication to Manhattan and Intellinet Network Solutions.

The focus of the two-day conference was on the latest IC Intracom Manhattan and Intellinet Network Solutions product range and on strategies for market expansion, and was attended by more than 100 global business executives and IC Intracom distribution partners.

Asgar Mahomed, Esquire's managing director, was also selected as a charter member of the IC Intracom distribution management team. The other four committee members come from various global regions, including the directors from Smit Electronic in Croatia, Computer Age in Saudi Arabia, Smart in Tunisia and Tomauri in Canada.

The responsibilities of the DAC members are to attend quarterly meetings whereby they propose and communicate improvements, recommend action and offer feedback on IC Intracom's programmes, products and policies. Other duties include being the leaders in creating synergy between IC Intracom and its distributor partners, as well as gaining acceptability of future programmes.

Commenting on the appointment, Mahomed said: “To be chosen as one of the DAC members from among 60 other competing countries is a prestigious achievement for Esquire Technologies, as it will give us the opportunity to meet the needs of the southern African market.

“It is rewarding to see that our effort to create meaningful relationships with our valued partner, IC Intracom, does not go unnoticed and that our relationship can only strengthen further.”

Michael Thiel, co-founder and CEO of the IC Intracom Group, stressed in his public address the importance of the long-term relationship between the Manhattan and Intellinet brands and Esquire Technologies: “We can always count on Esquire when it comes to deploying our products in a way that optimises consumer experiences.

“We are honoured to count Esquire among our most loyal and successful partners worldwide,” concluded Thiel.
