Esquire Technologies, the award-winning broad-based distributor - including technology, digital lifestyle, consumer and mobile products - hosted its second "Walk for a Blanket and Eliminate Hunger" on 4 May 2014, in conjunction with Caring Women's Forum Pretoria and Gift of the Givers being the beneficiary.

This year saw a number of corporates also taking part in the event, such as McDonalds, Nestle (Milo), Coo-ee, Henkel-Pritt division and Red Bull

Asgar Mahomed, MD of Esquire Technologies said the participation of the corporate companies' mascots entertaining the children during the day made the event "far more kiddie-friendly".

"The children also enjoyed giveaway cold drinks as well as free Pritt products. McDonald's mascot Ronald McDonald entertained the kids with free burgers and toys - which was also one of many high points of the day."

This year's event was just as good -and well attended - as last year's.

Last year's charity walk was dubbed "Walk for a Blanket and Eliminate Hunger". "It was a huge success - and this is why decided to hold it again this year."

The walk saw a large number participants, spectators and volunteers taking part in a 5km or 7km fun walk in and around the suburbs of Laudium to raise funds for the purchase of blankets for the needy - and to collect canned food.

"The Caring Women's Forum Pretoria again played a pivotal role in assisting us to make the event a success," said Mahomed.

Member of the Caring Woman's Forum Pretoria (CWFP), Zaheera Mahomed, added: "We were happy that this year's event was even better than last year. When it comes to fund-raising for needy charities, every bit helps. This year the Gift of the Givers will once again be the beneficiary. We believe this is a worthy cause due to the phenomenal work the organisation does here, and abroad."
