Intermec, one of the world's leading providers of enterprise mobile business solutions, recorded the largest ever growth in the second quarter, in terms of revenue and unit shipments, for the Middle East and Africa.

Intermec recorded a strong 17% year-on-year growth and 24% quarter-on-quarter.

"Intermec's 2011 results were record-breaking, but to accelerate past this in 2012 was an incredible achievement and a testament to the quality of our product, the ability of partners to deliver, and the pervasiveness of our overall offering," stated Julian Sperring-Toy, Intermec General Manager - Middle East, Africa, India and Turkey.

Growth came from across all Intermec market applications or deployment environments, like warehousing, direct store delivery, field service and parcel express delivery.

Direct store delivery remained Intermec's core market with significant growth, predominantly in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Turkey. In addition, developing transport and logistics markets in the Maghreb countries was also a major contributor to the regional growth.

Industry leading Intermec 70 series mobile computers accelerated in the second quarter, with a significant focus on field service projects in the United Arab Emirates.
