Itec has built powerful telephony cost management and cost recovery features into its Itec Print Director software, offering its clients the ability to accurately track and bill for both printing and telephone costs from a single solution.
Itec Print Director is an enterprise software tool that makes it easy for Itec customers to track, audit and control all printing and photocopying on a network in a multi-vendor environment. By giving organisations a clear view of paper output on printers, photocopiers and MFPs, Print Director allows them to control internal usage of print services, and to bill external customers accurately for the print services they consume.
The software has now been integrated with Mitel and Samsung PBXs to offer Itec clients the ability to record telephone costs and monitor these costs by user, department or client account. This, in turn, empowers organisations to better manage internal costs, as well as to bill clients for telephone calls made on their behalf.
Says Hannes van der Merwe, Mitel product manager at Itec:
“This solution is the first in South Africa to offer the cost control features of a telephone management system and a print-tracking application in a single piece of software. It gives companies a detailed view of two of their largest operating costs so that they can manage these expenses better.
“It's an especially powerful tool for companies such as consulting and legal firms that need to recover telephone and printing costs from their external clients each month. They now have the convenience of generating a single report for both printing and phone costs in one cost-effective and easy-to-use solution.”
“The Print Director software connects to the PBX unit over the network, with no need for the installation of any additional hardware, since it runs on any standard Windows server,” adds Matthew Venkatesan, Itec channel manager.
“It is flexible enough to support a range of billing options such as per-second billing, rounding and different costs for the first minute and subsequent minutes.”
All print and telephony transactions are recorded in a central database and can be automatically billed to the relevant user or department. This gives the company the assurance that it is not over- or undercharging its clients for printing and telephone costs.
Says Venkatesan: “Since this software is locally developed, we are able to customise it to the specific needs of any customer.
We have already rolled the PBX functionality to certain Print Director customers, who report that it is more than living up to their expectations.”
