The University of Johannesburg is proud to announce that its examination results for the November 2010 examinations were communicated to students using the ITS Student Infoslips application for the first time.
The year-end examination results were e-mailed to approximately 55 000 students on Wednesday, 8 December 2010. Included in the electronic ITS Infoslips were the examination results, as well as a number of additions, communiqu'es and letters addressed to students.
Lizette Hollander, Head of Faculty Administration, Faculty of Art Design and Architecture, commented: “I went through the process with a number of the students from the faculty. The system worked perfectly. The end result is impressive and professional. Thank you to all university and ITS staff for your hard work in making this a reality.”
ITS Infoslips are interactive, electronic, push-delivery documents that are distributed to clients of an institution as secure e-mail attachments. It offers institutions an extremely secure method to communicate cost-effectively with its clients, be it students, staff or other third party clients of the institution. ITS Infoslips are ideally suited to reach a mass audience on a regular basis and replace expensive paper-based communication to a large extent. One of the main advantaged of ITS Infoslips is the interactivity within the documents that are distributed in this way.
ITS Infoslips are customised to reflect the corporate identity of the institution and individualised to contain information pertaining to individual students, staff, etc. ITS Infoslips content can consist of a number of user-friendly, technology rich formats, including text, graphs, video and sound. Typical uses for ITS Infoslips within the education environment include:
* Student information including statements, bursary information, examination timetables and results, outstanding library books and fines, all in one Infoslip.
* Payslip and IRP5 distribution to staff of the institution.
* Statements to employers of students.
The distribution of information via ITS Infoslips can be used by any institution using any campus management system.
