Phoenix Distribution UK subsidiary expands range

Johannesburg, 27 Aug 2012

Specialist distributor, Phoenix Distribution's growth locally has been mirrored in the expansion of its UK subsidiary, PX Security. In part, this growth has been the result of the company's continued expansion of its product range, allowing customers to benefit from a wider range of solutions.

The latest addition to PX Security's comprehensive security software portfolio is the Bitdefender range of products. PX Security specialises in supplying a wide range of security software products, and the addition of Bitdefender to the portfolio have ensured that the company is a one-stop security solution provider.

"With the ever-increasing rates of fraud, phishing and other online risks, all computer users require security software," explains Simon Campbell-Young, CEO of Phoenix Distribution. "As with all other products, there are many brands available in the market, and with the addition of a premium brand like Bitdefender, we are ensuring that our customers have access to high-quality protection - whatever flavour they prefer."

The Bitdefender products feature anti-virus and anti-spyware, personal firewall, privacy control, user control and backup for corporate and home users. PC Tuneup and Performance Optimiser are available in the Total Security Suite. Its latest iteration, Bitdefender 2013, boasts several new features, including a secure, standalone Web browser that automatically opens when you visit banking and shopping sites; a USB immuniser that scans and cleans any malware found on USB drives and other removable media; and a device anti-theft tool that allows users to remotely lock, wipe and locate their laptops.

As with its local business, a healthy appreciation of the dynamics of the local market has allowed PX Security to stay ahead of the pace. "We are able to provide vendors with efficient business strategies that are relevant, well-planned and well executed," Campbell-Young points out. "We are committed to supporting our vendors in every way we can, and boosting their efficiencies in all the markets we play in. The backing of a first-class distribution team is essential in the success of any product, and we provide that - and more."
