New Horizons awarded R1.6m tender

Johannesburg, 31 May 2005

New Horizons Computer Learning Centres South Africa, a subsidiary of New Horizons Worldwide, Inc, is the largest provider of IT training and professional development services.

New Horizons South Africa is a black economic empowerment provider of computer and business skills training business with offices in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, Pietermaritzburg (satellite centre) and Harare.

The company has a national presence that ensures the same business methodology is being trained and has the same consistent high standards and level of customer service regardless of where in the country the delegates attend training.

New Horizons is a Sector Education Training Authority (SETA) approved training provider, one of SA's Top 300 Black Empowered Companies, as well as one of the largest prometric testing centres nationally.

New Horizons Computer Leaning Centres has secured a R1.6 million contract with the Department of Labour to implement basic computer and Microsoft Office training nationally as part of its learnership programme funded by the European Union.

"The objective of the tender was to implement computer training for approximately 450 learners on five different applications. That's the easy part," said Mohammed Ebrahim, Sales Manager of New Horizons. "Doing this roll-out nationally in two weeks, simultaneously, was the challenge."

"Winning this bid in SA is clear evidence of our performance, capacity and capabilities," said Mahomed Randeree, managing director of New Horizons.
