It`s official: ISEB, EXIN are of `equal value`

Johannesburg, 04 Mar 2004

Confusion in training circles surrounding the validity of Netherlands Examination Institute (EXIN) and the British version, ISEB, has been resolved by the Office of Government Commerce (OGC) in the United Kingdom.

NSS Consulting executive Alfred Seala confirmed that OGC`s corporate services directorate had informed him that both EXIN and ISEB have "the same relationship with OGC and are of equal value".

"We were asked by one of our major clients if there was a difference - we took the short route and had the controlling body officially clear the issue," Seala said. "According to Richard Wills of OGC, the only difference between the two is that their respective services are offered in different parts of the world."

Leading IT service management consultants will confirm that ITIL - IT Infrastructure Library - is the most widely accepted approach to IT services management worldwide. ITIL provides a cohesive set of best practice drawn from the public and private sectors internationally.

This is supported by a comprehensive qualification scheme, accredited training organisations and implementation of assessment tools.
