The Black IT Forum (BITF) has instructed its attorneys to institute civil action against former BITF general manager Cathy Phage, regarding an e-mail she sent containing allegations of corruption within the forum.

The BITF made the announcement at a media briefing at its offices in Randburg yesterday, in response to the e-mail that was recently circulated to all BITF members and the media.

Phage`s e-mail challenges the way in which she was dismissed at the end of last year, and questions the running and management of the BITF.

The BITF would not respond to her allegations of corruption and harassment, and said the matter is in the hands of its lawyers.

"I would like to assure all BITF members that there`s no crisis within the organisation," said BITF national chairman Neville Naidoo.

Phage said she would continue her challenge of the BITF until she is reinstated.
