Dutch CRM provider supports JSR 170
Dutch Web content management solutions provider GX has introduced WebManager 9, based on Apache Jackrabbit and the JSR 170 standard, reports Sys-Con.
The system will enable clients to add functions to their Web sites such as online shops or other Internet activities. Each new component can be added while sites are live.
Gartner says: "Some vendors are hesitant to open up their repositories, which they will do by supporting JSR 170. A lack of support for this standard may force clients to make decisions about which vendors they continue to do business with."
New Zealand govt looks at CRM
The New Zealand Department of Labour (DOL) is consolidating all its separate intranets into a single site, reports m-net. The DOL is looking into acquiring a content management system that can create processes to keep content up-to-date, accurate and useful for staff.
The department has 2 500 staff members and the intranet is its primary provider of information, primarily to those in remote locations. At the moment the company is run on three separate intranets which amounts to about 10 000 pages of information.
The department is seeking a company to implement a content management system and provide related technical services. It will not need to design a new intranet.
