Bytes Specialised Solutions, the authorised representative of NCR solutions in South Africa, has secured a strategic self-service agreement with retail banking leader Absa, which includes the replacement of the Diebold ATMs with NCR devices.
The long-standing NCR/Bytes business relationship, together with their exceptional service and support performance, created the compelling differentiator from the competition.
"After a stringent supplier selection process, it was evident that the Bytes value proposition offered Absa the best technology solution at the lowest total cost of ownership," says Allen Mahadeo, General Manager of the Absa Self-Service Channel, and the person behind Absa's dominance in the self-service arena.
"In the past, our NCR machines and the services rendered by Bytes have been characterised by high availability and dedicated vendor support. Bytes presented a challenging offer and we are satisfied with our decision to have our entire ATM base comprising NCR machines," adds Mahadeo.
This decision also takes into consideration the long-term strategic requirements of Absa to enable the optimal use of new and emerging technologies.
