JSE-listed ICT group GijimaAst has appointed Jonas Bogoshi, the outgoing chief of strategic services at the State IT Agency (SITA), as its new CEO.

Bogoshi will take over from GijimaAst's retiring CEO, John Miller, on 1 July.

A Stock Exchange News Service announcement, issued by GijimaAst, says Bogoshi is an ICT veteran with over 18 years' experience.

SITA acting CEO Peter Pedlar says Bogoshi played an instrumental role in the turnaround of the state-owned agency.

Bogoshi says his time at SITA served as an important phase in the development of his career and that he is looking forward to his new role at GijimaAst.

He was appointed as SITA's chief of strategic services in 2006, after joining the organisation in 2004 as a client service executive, responsible for identifying new markets, services, products and revenue streams.

Before joining SITA, Bogoshi worked for several multinational companies, including Cisco Systems, where he served as an executive for government services.

He has a bachelor of computer science degree, and professional management and investment management diplomas.
