The State IT Agency (SITA) only needs to find a permanent CFO to have a full executive management team in place. This is after it announced that it has promoted Femke Pienaar to chief of business operations.

Pienaar takes over from Noedine Isaacs-Mpulo, who announced her departure in October. Isaacs-Mpulo took the top spot at Lefatshe Technologies.

Currently head of SITA's client business unit, Pienaar has been with the agency since 1992 when it was still the Infoplan division of Denel. She has a BSc in computer science and an honours degree in human resources development, the organisation says.

Recently appointed CEO Llewellyn Jones says he is pleased that the agency has been able to fill vacant positions on the executive committee with internal candidates. This augurs well for continuity and the "retention of institutional memory in the organisation", he explains.

SITA now has a seven-member management team comprising: Jones as CEO; Peter Pedlar as chief of regulatory affairs and procurement; Moses Mtimunye as chief of strategic services; Pienaar as chief of business operations; Eghshaan Khan as CIO; Emily Nthite as chief of shared services; and Andre Pretorius as acting-CFO.
