Detectives from the police's Organised Crime Unit, in Pretoria, have arrested two men who were in possession of suspected stolen computers and parts worth an estimated R1.5 million.

Police spokesman Superintendent Ronnie Naidoo says the two - aged 29 and 37 - were arrested Wednesday.

Naidoo did not elaborate on the details of the sting, but previous operations of the type usually involve the police acting on a tip-off and posing as buyers.

The detectives confiscated 25 laptops, 10 desktop computers, 15 mobile phones, a hi-fi, numerous hard drives, computer spares and cloned software, at various locations in Pretoria.

Naidoo says the duo will be charged for being in possession of property suspected to be stolen and will appear in the Pretoria Magistrates Court later today.

Police investigations are continuing and further arrests are expected soon.
