MWEB, South Africa's leading Internet service provider, has acquired Netsight, a network services company providing outsourced technology support and networking products to small and medium-sized businesses in Johannesburg.
Andre Joubert, MWEB Business General Manager, says: "Netsight is one of our existing partners. We have a good relationship with them and we know their track record of reselling MWEB products - they do a lot of our installations on the ground - and therefore it was a good fit for us.
"With this acquisition, we see a clear opportunity to build a support model for our clients and to bring a more formalised support structure to them," he continues. "The Netsight team is good at what they do, and will bring a new set of skills to the MWEB fold."
Netsight was established in 1997 with a core focus on the provision and support of networking products. Netsight's services include network outsourcing, onsite maintenance, desktop support and equipment maintenance. The company's service offering is ideally suited to supporting small and medium-sized companies or clients with less than 200 users/PCs. Netsight supports clients' access products, including ADSL, leased line and VPN, as well as VOIP services, PABX and hardware.
Joubert says more and more small businesses are requiring an integrated support service, as they want to be able to pick up the phone and call one service provider - someone they already trust and have a relationship with for support when something is wrong.
Netsight MD Jacques du Preez says the integration of NetSight into MWEB comes at a time when small businesses require assistance with the multitude of choices available. NetSight's broad-based skills and MWEB's extensive services will provide solutions to customers by solving issues with a global approach. A combination of centralised and field services will be available to customers requiring installations and maintenance on computer and telephony products.
MWEB's acquisition of Netsight is effective as of 1 November 2007.
