JAX India merges conferences

JAX India 2008 offers its participants the opportunity of visiting three conferences in one: JAX India 2008, Enterprise Architecture India 2008 and Eclipse Forum India 2008, says SDA Asia.

All three conferences take place at the same time and venue, at the JN Tata Auditorium, Indian Institute of Science Bangalore.

Participants have unlimited access to all three conferences, as well as to the joint expo that is expected to feature several exhibitor products and services.

JBoss upgrades platform

JBoss, a division of Red Hat, has developed the Enterprise Application Platform in version 4.3, which is upgraded with messaging and Web services technologies, says SDA India.

Various JBoss.org components have been integrated into JBoss Enterprise Application Platform version 4.3 and are fully supported for use in both development and production.

The platform provides open source technologies for the development and deployment of Java Enterprise Application Services and integrates the JBoss Application Server with Hibernate Seam.

Oracle acquires BEA

Oracle has purchased BEA Systems. Oracle CEO Larry Ellison says the deal will strengthen its position as a strategic software vendor up against IBM, SAP, Sun, Microsoft and open source, says JDJ.

Ellison declared the deal a "great day for the Java community".

Scale, he said, was critical to middleware and he cast the Oracle-BEA combination as a stronger Java/SOA alternative to Microsoft and .NET.
