CompTIA presents at VoiceCon

CompTIA will feature its Convergence+ certification at this month's VoiceCon conference, says PRWeb.

On 19 March, at VoiceCon Orlando, CompTIA and BCR Training will present an educational programme titled The Convergence of Employer Needs and Future Employee Skills.

Ann Behler, dean of business, computing and career services at Orange Coast College, will speak on how businesses and education have and will come together to address the need for qualified employees in the convergence space, as well as where convergence training and certifications such as CompTIA Convergence+ fit in.

Trinity demonstrates robot

Trinity Convergence will demonstrate the iRobot ConnectR Virtual Visiting Robot at the Spring VON.x conference in San Jose, from 17 to 20 March, says The Earth Times.

Combining IP-based communications and robot technology, the iRobot ConnectR will allow users to virtually visit with loved ones, relatives, pets or view remote locations anytime the user chooses.

The ConnectR joins products such as personal media players, video phones, VOIP phones, multimedia tablets and other IP-connected communication devices, that incorporate the VeriCall Edge IP multimedia software and PEG graphical user interface development tools from Trinity Convergence.

Device convergence problematic

As telecommunications strategies increasingly prioritise multichannel communications, E-consultancy has pointed out some interesting content issues convergence highlights, says Direct Response.

E-consultancy notes that technology combining mobile devices with e-mail services is a hot industry topic, with contact options continually more likely to involve multichannel telecoms.

It is claimed that the "spam bar is set far higher" on mobiles, with consumers claimed to be "less tolerant of unanticipated messages on mobiles than they are on their PC". Customer convenience and choice lies at the heart of these advances, with services that cater to the needs of the consumer set to thrive while less useful tactics wane, the publication remarks.
