LG Electronics South Africa announces local change in management

Johannesburg, 09 Jun 2008

LG Electronics South Africa, consumer goods manufacturer, has announced its plan to change the current senior management structure from Korean to a local South African representative, as part of its global business strategy.

"The South African market is an extremely important market for us," says Michelle Potgieter, marketing director. "It is evident that our South African operation requires a local MD. This change will strengthen the company's commitment to understanding local market conditions."

LG Electronics SA has had a Korean managing director and historically every few years LG Korea announces a replacement for the current managing director on a rotating basis. In light of this announcement, CE (Consumer Electronics) director Peet van Rooyen will be acting MD in the interim until a suitable candidate has been appointed.

Potgieter explains: "LG Electronics SA would like to acknowledge Mr Tae the current managing director who has been with LG Electronics SA for the past three years and thank him for his contribution. We wish him well in his future endeavours."
