Metrofile expands into Mozambique

Johannesburg, 10 Jun 2008

Metrofile, South Africa's market leader in document management and storage, has expanded its operation with the opening of a branch in Maputo, Mozambique.

A joint venture between Metrofile and long time business partner CVS, Metrofile Mozambique represents an initial investment of around R750 000.

"We have been aware for some time of the growing demand for document management and storage support in Mozambique," says Metrofile CEO Graham Wackrill. "We were therefore delighted when CVS approached us to consider a joint venture in the region as we had been approached by a number of our existing customers regarding their needs in the region. This operation will enable them to enjoy the same level of support they currently enjoy in South Africa."

"The benefits of proper record-keeping cannot be overstated in terms of the time, money and resources that it saves," Wackrill adds. "Metrofile has 25 years of experience in document and records management which will benefit both the public and private sectors in Mozambique."

Artur Martins of partners CVS agrees. "We have been working in Mozambique for many years and have seen the growth in demand for proper record-keeping and secure document storage. For us there was only one choice as a partner; 18 years of working with Metrofile has left us in no doubt that they will deliver a high quality service that is effective in meeting the needs of Mozambican business and government. Most importantly, the facility will enable companies to comply with good governance and local laws which prohibit storage of documents beyond the borders of Mozambique."

Metrofile will be the first and only company in Mozambique to focus solely on document and records storage and management. Customers will be offered the full Metrofile service range including on- and off-site storage, document and records management, document conversion, vault, confidential records destruction, document management software, storage boxes and stationery, consultancy and training.

The branch is being staffed and managed by locals who will be fully supported by the Metrofile team in South Africa.
