Reunert is pleased to announce the following executive management changes:
Effective 1 August 2008, Piet Smit, currently responsible for Reunert's defence operations Reutech, will become chief operating officer of the electrical engineering division, CBI-electric.
The intention is that Smit will become the CEO of CBI-electric following the retirement of the current chief executive, Helmuth Fischer, in August 2010.
Peter van der Bijl has been appointed chief operating officer of Reutech with immediate effect. Van der Bijl has 28 years experience in the defence industry. He previously held senior positions at, among others, African Defence Systems, Denel Aerospace and Kentron.
He is well qualified and holds Master of Science degrees in electronic engineering and aerospace from the University of Witwatersrand and Cranfield Institute of Technology respectively.
